Harnessing the Power of Color.

Color is Complicated. Color is Magical

Hi, I am Peggy Van Allen, founder of Colorfuel. I study human behavior in order to forecast the cyclical changes that happen globally with color preferences. Additionally, using color theory and color psychology, I guide my clients to speak in their customer’s color language. It is the most powerful tool in the sales toolbox.

When I am asked, “what is my favorite color,” or “what is the next hot color,” I don’t have that answer. Color is about so much more than that to me. It is how colors interact with changing light and each other. When you see a color on an article of clothing that speaks to you and you have to own it. When you walk into a room or see a composition and the combination of colors sing. That is the magic. Together we can use color to feed our souls.

From an early age, art was my thing. As a kid, I loved making stuff. My oh-so-creative and frugal mom taught me by her example that you can make beautiful things from anything, thus the love of the unique was nourished. I studied graphic design in college and started my career in that area. It was when I started working for a paint company that I discovered color could be my thing. I have spent the last 25+ years learning all that I can about color and yes, it is a complicated topic. What I love most is sharing the love of color and making color decisions less scary. Color has a power to inform, touch us and affect us and that is a gift we should embrace.

Understanding which colors make people buy can seriously boost your sales.

My Side Gig/Passion

I believe it is important to continually grow through networking and education. I have been a volunteer member of Color Marketing Group for many years and I am currently serving as President. CMG is an association near and dear to my heart. It is a not-for-profit community of color professionals who come together at local and international color forecasting events to interpret, create, forecast, and select colors with the goal of enhancing manufactured goods and services. By collaborating, we better identify the direction of color and design trends.

I had the pleasure of presenting the coveted Forrest L. Dimmick award to color legend, Leatrice Eiseman at our International Summit in November 2022. If you are a color professional and looking for a way to learn and grow in color, check it out. For more information on membership, go to the website Color Marketing Group
